The Hawkinge Gazette is a 'hobby' blog publishing articles predominately from East Kent in the UK.


It is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our web site.

We want you to know that The Hawkinge Gazette is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. In fact we don't have 'members' and do not store personal information on the site apart from names of authors to articles and letters which have been published and attributed to the author/photographer by the Hawkinge Gazette.

Letters to the Editor - General rules and information

Please be courteous and only write what you would be prepared to say face to face.

The Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News (Localrags) will not under any circumstances publish letters from anonymous authors. We must have a valid Email address or home address. If the author wishes to withhold their name, the published letter will be signed - name and address supplied.

Anyone wishing to know the identity of the author must contact the Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News (Localrags). We will then approach the author to see if they are willing to have their identity disclosed to everyone or to the person requesting the information. Under normal circumstances we would request that we disclose the name of the person requesting the information, to the author.

Correspondence where the Editor considers there is a contrary view to another individual, group, party or business will only be published if the senders name is used

Letters which are considered to be possibly libellous, abusive or threatening will not be published under any circumstances.
